Communities

Start where you live.

Each place gets its own decision space, active goal, and open record—inside one wider network.

Build locally

One place can start the network.

A local launch needs verified residents, Community Speakers, a clear decision process, and the legal structure to protect its fund.

Community Speakers

Elected by the community.

Speakers are the middlemen between the community and the action — elected to represent the town, keep its projects moving, and report back every day. The planner, elected separately under Community governance below, runs the funded goal day to day. Here's the split:

What a speaker does

Explains the ideas, the vote, and the plan to neighbors in plain words. Rallies people to show up, propose, and vote — turnout is the whole game. Carries the town's voice outward: to local officials, to the press, to anyone who needs to hear what the community decided. And when a project wins, the speakers help finalize it — lining up the legal and permit steps, keeping the process moving until the work starts.

What a speaker can't do

Touch the money. Speakers don't pick winners, don't move funds, and don't override a single vote. The voters decide where every dollar goes — the speaker just makes sure everyone heard about the vote.

The daily record

Once a project is moving, the speakers post the updates themselves — every day, right on this site: what's done, what's next, and the spending down to the penny. If it isn't posted, it didn't happen.

How they get the role

Members nominate anyone in the community and vote for the nominees they want — one person, one vote, all of it public. At the end of each month, the 3 nominees with the most votes (at least 5 each) become speakers for 12-month terms. A tie for the last seat leaves it vacant until next month. A speaker can be removed at any time by majority vote — see below.

Community governance

Who runs this town, and who stays.

Planner

No planner seated. Nominate someone to run this community's goal day to day — 12-month term, replaceable any time by majority vote.

Member removal

Removing someone takes a two-thirds vote of all community members — people who don't vote count against removal. The person being removed doesn't vote on their own removal. Past votes stand.

Founder pay

The full pay formula and the rules for changing it are stated in the rules. Any member can propose a change — every member in every community votes as one, and all votes are public.
